London's most iconic silhouette — this fine art portrait photograph of Big Ben looks up at the Elizabeth Tower with the kind of close attention that reveals just how extraordinary a piece of Victorian Gothic architecture it really is. Completed in 1859 and designed by Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin, the Elizabeth Tower — popularly known as Big Ben after the 13-tonne Great Bell it houses — rises 96 metres above the north end of the Palace of Westminster, its four clock faces each nearly seven meters in diameter, the hands cast in gunmetal and gilded. The tower is a masterpiece of Gothic Revival design: the intricate stone tracery, the gilded details, the four-faced clock that has marked the hours of London life for over 165 years. This portrait-format photograph draws the eye upward along the full height of the tower, the stone and gilding sharp against the sky, capturing the scale and the craftsmanship of one of the world's most recognised landmarks. Printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper with optional acrylic glass or Alu-Dibond mounting for a gallery-quality finish.
